How is this different from the 12-week Professional course?
Completely different room and a different person in it. The 12-week course takes someone from no camera knowledge to a working portfolio. The Lab assumes all of that and skips it — it exists for photographers already earning who've hit a ceiling on light and colour. If you're not being paid to shoot yet, the
Professional course is your starting point.
Can I do only the editing module?
Yes. The Edit Room runs standalone at ₦150,000 for four sessions across weeks three and four of every month. Most people end up taking both, because lighting badly is what creates most of the editing problem in the first place — but you're not obliged to.
Can I book a single session instead of the full module?
No. Four sessions is the smallest unit we sell. Two evenings can't change how you work, and a room booked session-by-session can't be run properly for the people who committed to the whole module.
When does the next intake start?
Within a fortnight, always. The Light Lab restarts in week one of every month and the Edit Room in week three, so there are two entry points every month and the Lab never closes for a cohort. Message us and we'll give you the exact next date.
Do I need my own camera and lights?
No — the studio at 43 Maye Street is fully equipped, and everything you need is provided. Most photographers bring their own body anyway, and that's encouraged: what you learn transfers to Monday morning faster when you learned it on your own gear.
Will it clash with my shooting schedule?
It runs Tuesday and Thursday, 4–6pm, for four weeks — so your weekends stay free for paid work and you're home before the night traffic. It does mean keeping those two afternoons clear, so if your week can't take that, the private one-to-one track is scheduled entirely around your calendar.
What does "colour and skin in Nigerian light" actually mean?
Nearly every editing tutorial available online was built and calibrated on lighter skin, in temperate light. The advice fails quietly on rich dark skin under harsh Lagos sun or mixed indoor lighting — reds go plastic, shadows go grey, and imported presets fall apart. We teach the colour science for the skin and the light you actually shoot in, and you leave with a preset built from your own catalogue.
Is there a payment plan?
Yes, depending on which module you're taking. Message us on WhatsApp and we'll set out the exact split.
Where is it?
43 Maye Street, Yaba, Lagos — five minutes from the University of Lagos main gate.
